Nicholas Cage and Ron Perlman are two soldiers who become disillusioned with the Crusades and are then given the job of transporting a young girl who is supposed to be a witch to a monastery across plague ridden Europe. The plot is fairly predictable as various people get killed off and then the final fantasy climax. Nicholas Cage and Ron Perlman do OK the material they have to work with, but Claire Foy gives the most intriguing performance as the girl who is the suspected witch.
